Please join us on January 21st at the 10am Worship Service for the Installation and Ordination of Elders and Deacons.

We will be collecting soup until Souper Bowl Sunday on February 11th for  Welcome Friends food pantry. There has never been a greater need to feed our community here in Port Jefferson. Soup can be dropped off on Sundays at 10 am in the large basket in the Narthex as you enter the Church or Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2 pm. Not leaving the house? Need someone to shop for you? Please join us on Maundy Thursday at 6pm as we join in Fellowship Hall for a soup meal before the 7pm Tenebrae Service of Shadows.

The Tenebrae Service, which will be preceded by Holy Communion, is an adaptation of an early Fourth Century Worship Service. Literally meaning “Shadows” or “Darkness”, this Service of Shadows utilizes sacred scripture and music to interpret the Passion (suffering) of Christ. The gradual extinguishing of candles symbolizes the growing shadow of the crucifixion looming over Jesus and his isolation in darkness as his disciples desert him. The congregation is invited to leave the church in silence, reflecting on our Savior's suffering, loneliness, and death for our sakes.

The Sanctuary will be open on Good Friday, March 29th from 10am to 2pm if you would like to walk the stations of the cross and meditate. Please call Donna in the office and let her know you'll be coming at (631) 473-0147.
