Labyrinth Walk -June 5th-11:35

LABYRINTH WALK AT AVALON PARK-Sunday June 5th Come experience the Spiritual practice of a LabyrinthWalk with Pastor Richard and church friends.  We will rendezvous at the Shep Jones Lane parking lot (two streets past the mill on Harbor Road past the pond) at 11:35 am following worship and take a brief 1/2 mile walk to the Labyrinth. There we will learn about how and what a Labyrinth walk is and each of us can make this short contemplative journey.  Afterward, families will have free-time for the opportunity to continue to walk the wonderful Avalon grounds, have a picnic lunch, or depart if desired. Annual Lawn Party – August 6th 3pm

Why not let your fellowship & family bloom this summer? Join us for the Annual Lawn Party on August 6th – 3 pm (Rain Date August 7th at 3 pm) Join us at the beautiful home of Joan Hubbard overlooking Long Island Sound-every viewpoint is breathtakingly beautiful! Ducks Game-August 13th

  Summer and baseball time! Tickets are $12 pp children 3 and under are free.  Fireworks after the game!! Contact Jane Troncoso at office@pjpres.org for details.

Labor Day-Office Closed September 5th

The office will be closed in observance of Labor Day. Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.

Winter Coat Drive

October 27th to December 21st we will be collecting coats for those in need. Start cleaning out those closets of coats you don't wear or have outgrown to keep someone warm in our community this winter season! Please hang your clean, gently used coats on the coat rack in Fellowship Hall.

Fall back-Daylight Savings Time Ends!

Don't forget to adjust your clocks Saturday night! Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 2:00 A.M. At this time, we “fall back” one hour!

We will be talking to you about stewardship over the coming weeks with the campaign culminating on Stewardship Dedication Sunday November 20th. Stewardship is how we use our God-given gifts; it is how we use our talents, our time and our finances to carry on Christ’s work in the world. Stewardship is how we live out our life as followers of Jesus Christ. Stewardship is about giving as an expression of gratitude for what we have received. The pledges that you make are used to support the mission programs and operations of the church.  It is a testament to your love of God, and our church, that you continue to provide support. Pledge cards for 2023 will be available in the Narthex beginning in November.

Deck the Halls 2022!

Please join us after the 10am Worship Service on November 20th to Deck the Halls here at First Presbyterian Church. This is a great start for ringing in the Advent Season as we gather in Fellowship Hall and begin decking the halls!   Fun for all!! Come hang some Christmas ornaments on our trees in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall while throwing up some garland around the doors and poles, lots of fun for any age to get you into the holiday spirit!  

Mistletoe Lane at Annual 26th Dickens Festival -Port Jefferson Village

Please join us on Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th from 10am to 3pm for our 2nd First Presbyterian Church Mistletoe Lane Craft Fair. Come do your Christmas shopping in the heart of the village and enjoy some delicious treats as well! We are located in the heart of the village on the corner of 107 South/Main Street in Port Jefferson Village. Shop local and support your local community while walking around enjoying a wonderful holiday tradition! We will have Music both days of the festival (Listing to be posted soon) with special performance by the North Shore Chamber Choir performing "The Messiah" at 4pm on Saturday, December 3rd. People from far and near come here as it is magically transformed to the Dickensian era. Troupes of Dickens characters roam the streets with costumes, period dialect and magical music as well! We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy the Dickens Festival this year!
